Guncast Pools & Wellness partnered with KLAFS to deliver a bespoke wellness suite for the newly opened art’otel London Hoxton, a premium lifestyle hotel in East London. The project included a 12-metre indoor swimming pool, a custom-built sauna, and a luxurious steam room, all designed to meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and performance.
At the heart of the spa is the 12-metre swimming pool, constructed using a spray concrete shuttering method (shotcrete) and finished with a high-performance Steuler waterproofing membrane. Premium porcelain tiles were chosen for their durability and refined aesthetic, while four integrated underwater lights enhance the ambience. The installation required significant engineering expertise to adapt the existing building envelope and ensure structural integrity, watertightness, and long-term durability.
The sauna features a distinctive U-shaped, two-tier bench configuration, clad in high-quality spruce with Obeche benching for comfort and low thermal conductivity. Advanced fan-assisted ventilation ensures optimal heat distribution and air quality.
Complementing this, the steam room adopts a similar U-shaped layout for ergonomic comfort and is finished in large-format dark porcelain tiles for a sleek, contemporary look. Integrated LED lighting under the benches creates a soft, inviting glow, while KLAFS’ OPTISTEAM technology delivers rich, enveloping steam with exceptional energy efficiency.
This project demonstrates Guncast’s ability to combine technical precision with design excellence, creating wellness environments that are as functional as they are visually striking.
