Seeing AFM®’s production process firsthand was a fascinating experience, reaffirming our confidence in its performance, sustainability, and environmental credentials.
The origins of AFM® and its impact on wellness
AFM® was developed by a Scottish marine biologist investigating why dolphins in captivity had significantly shorter lifespans than those in the wild. His research revealed that poor water quality, caused by ineffective filtration, was a major factor. Determined to improve aquatic environments, he created AFM®, a glass-based filter media that resists biofilm formation and dramatically enhances water purity. Today, AFM® supports healthier environments not only for marine life but also for people enjoying luxury spas and swimming pools, and an example of how science and sustainability can come together to positively impact the wellness experience.
