This project at The Woodland Spa, part of the Crow Wood Hotel, Spa and Leisure Complex in Lancashire, a multi award-winning wellness destination, demonstrates Guncast’s expertise in creating technically advanced pools that integrate seamlessly within a premium spa setting. Working in collaboration with KLAFS, the project delivers complementary wellness experiences including a sanarium, ice lounge, experience showers and heated, ergonomic loungers.
The indoor vitality pool is designed as a freeform, level-deck experience pool, measuring up to 14.6m by 9.2m, with varying depths to support both relaxation and hydrotherapy use. Maintained at 36°C, the pool provides an immersive, controlled thermal environment aligned with spa use.
The adjacent KLAFS installations form a key part of the overall scheme. The ice lounge and experience showers introduce cooling and multi-sensory elements that sit in direct contrast to the heated vitality pool, contributing to a clearly defined thermal journey within the space.
Externally, a rooftop vitality pool introduces an infinity edge feature within an elevated outdoor setting. Measuring 12m by 3m and also operating at 36°C, it extends the spa facilities beyond the interior with a designed bather load for 20 people. The stainless steel pool was built by Wrightfield Pools and installed by Guncast.
Across both pools, technical performance is central. Systems are engineered to deliver consistent water quality, effective circulation and reliable operation within a commercial environment. Material and finish specification supports durability, ease of maintenance and integration with the wider spa scheme.
This project highlights Guncast’s ability to deliver bespoke vitality pools as part of an integrated wellness environment in collaboration with KLAFS, where water and thermal experiences are carefully coordinated.
